Transparent Soul released their debut 5 song EP entitled, "Proving Ground", with the help of Dove Award winning producer, Travis Wyrick. The title, "Proving Ground", is an ode to the lifetime struggle singer/songwriter Matthew Sassano, III has battled with Cerebral Palsy and Dyscalcula.

Skyfall's Media owner, Ben Kasica, former guitarist of Skillet commented, "I like to write with Matt."

Fans proclaim "Proving Ground" combines the angst and vocal styles of "Breaking Benjamin" and "Chevelle", the heavy breakdowns of "Atreyu" with lyrics that can be as honest, inspirational and thought provoking as "Switchfoot" and "Flyleaf". Rock magazine, Neufutur, proclaims Transparent Soul's lyrics, "keeps listeners on the edge of their seats through heavy thoughts and passion that's hard to deny." An early version of the band's critically acclaimed song, "Bridges" was featured on "Nascar the Game: Inside Line in 2012" for Xbox, PS3 and Wii; along with artist such as, "Staind", "Uncle Kraker", "Simple Plan" and "Halestom". A full length animated video of the song "Bridges" was designed by Alfred State College DMA senior class, directed by Jeremy "Speed" Schwartz producer of Cartoon Network's, "Robot Chicken".

In 2015, Matthew Sassano, III was a guest singer on "Disciples" album "Attack", song "Dead Militia". The album was awarded "runner up" for Rock Album of the Year and nominated for a Dove Award. Taylor Johnson sound engineer for Crosby, Stiles and Nash; and the Eagles stated: "as a front man, Matt can control a room of 50 or a room of 5,000." Transparent Soul continues to break through the rock music medium with a unique message, energy, passion and a huge heart for their fan base and making every live show count.
